When Covid-19 hit on March of 2020 last year I decided to go back home in South Gate, CA. I wanted to be with family at home instead of staying at a dorm. I was going through some personal problems and just wanted to be home. Dealing with Covid-19 has brought a great deal of mental obstacles. I learn better in person and this online learning has caused me a series of difficulties. I have been trying my best to learn, but it has been very hard. Another thing is that it has been very difficult to land a job.
With my past writing classes I have difficulties in grammar and writing as neatly as possible, so now that we are going to do some research paper's I hope that I can successfully make a good paper. One of my fears for this course is doing horrible, but that's no good way of thinking.
Overall, I wouldn't say my writing is all terrible, but I wouldn't say its perfect either. I believe my writing could still be enhanced and be bettered. When it comes to research I have not done a higher education research paper, so I am nervous on how I will perform in this class. I have notice I have a much more easier time making up stories than academic writing. I've noticed my writing process is a long one because when I don't grasp the topic fully I blank out a lot and stare at my screen on how to write it and what to write down, but I get it done one way or another.
When reading the articles we had this week on animal behaviors and their way of living. I found one topic about how a Kanzi, a bonobo, has learned to communicate his thoughts and what he wants. It is fascinating how this has to do with different elements, such as he was raised in captivity. Another topic that fascinated me would be the way they form a friendship and have empathy for each other. Such as dolphins are sometimes fond of humans and have that sense of companionship. I chose these two topic because there is just a vast of information on both topics and would love to research on ocean life and how they learn certain things in captivity and have companionship in the wild.

Here is a screenshot of me and my dog from a video of me trying to get him to look at the camera with a lime, but as you can see he was too focused on the lime. LOL :)

Hi Kayla,
I totally get you! I feel like I learn better in person rather than online. I can not wait until we are allowed to go back to campus. Also your dog is soooo cute!
